At just 24 years old, Nadine Robertson is the mother of five children under five, with her eldest, Isla, being only four. The family expanded rapidly with the arrival of twins Olivia and Ivy in 2018, and recently, twins Cody and Hazel joined the family. Nadine naturally conceived both sets of twins, a rarity that neither she nor her husband Phil can attribute to family history.
Living in Doncaster, Nadine finds her public outings with the children quite an event, attracting attention and comments, particularly because of the twins. Despite the chaos, she embraces the daily unpredictability and finds joy in her large family. She is a member of multiple twin mom Facebook groups, where she sees other families with two sets of twins, which helps her feel less alone in her unique situation.
The Robertson family’s four-bedroom home is well organized, with each set of twins sharing a room, while Isla enjoys her own space. However, Nadine often faces invasive questions from strangers, especially about the nature of the twins’ conception, with many assuming they were born through in vitro fertilization (IVF).
Nadine recalls the shock and curiosity her first set of twins sparked in people, with many expressing their astonishment directly to her. She finds these probing questions odd and, initially, they were unsettling. Despite the challenges and the constant attention, Nadine cherishes her bustling household and the joy her children bring.
